Teaching Through Theatre
Saudamini works as a theatre-based educator and believes in the power of theatre to build bridges between self and world. She believes in the power of theatre to expand, liberate, energize, and heal.
A constant state of equilibrium/disequilibrium is at the heart of theatre and life, and also drives her ethos in her teaching module, Ikwilibriumm.
Her method combines her training at l'école internationale de theatre jacques lecoq, which is rooted in an inquiry into the natural world, with her diverse teaching experience. She works with both children as well as adults, and her teaching does not vary greatly based on the age group. The students are led to experiment in various forms and present their own findings in a theatre-lab format.
A still from the community theatre and education project “The Wedding of the Frogs” for the Serendipity Arts Festival.
Saudamini has worked as a drama facilitator for organizations such as Teach For India, The Paradise School Goa, The Learning Center Goa, Serendipity Arts Festival, Chitkara University, Speaking-Agency Paris, Real School, and others.
